A novel material design to enhance surface properties of nodular cast iron by atmospheric plasma arc3/25/2016 "Surface alloying of high-vanadium high-speed steel on ductile iron using plasma transferred arc alloying technique: microstructure and wear properties" was accepted to the Journal of Materials &Design todayThe reviewers have agreed with the novelty in this manuscript: Reviewer 1 :The manuscript is very novel in that it drew its concept from the formation of novel high vanadium high speed steel in induction melting and adapted this to surface modified a small area for improvement of surface properties Reviewer 2: The manuscript described a new surface processing technique: PTA surface alloying process to enhance the wear resistance of nodular cast iron. From the point of view of 'design', the manuscript has its own merits.
